Our newest customer, BenThor automation GmbH, is introducing our leading software-based automation platform Xentara to their product line. We are pleased to report today on BENTHORcube, the first BenThor machine powered by Xentara. This is a compact, industrial laser system for precise labeling, engraving, and marking of a wide variety of materials.
At the heart of the BENTHORcube runs real-time control and I/O communication based on Xentara. This solution was chosen after Benthor expressed a desire to replace the classic monolithic PLC with a flexible, powerful, software-based control system with a small footprint.
The advantages of the BENTHORcube:
✅ Standardized design – individually configurable
✅ Optional automation via the BenThorbot
✅ Ideal for steel, aluminum, plastic, wood, and ceramics
The advantages for Benthor through the use of Xentara:
✅ Significant reduction in unit costs for control components
✅ Flexible programming – even with high-level languages such as C++
✅ Websocket-based HMI with real-time data
If you would like to see the BENTHORcube in action, you will have the opportunity to do so from November 25 to 27: The laser engraving cell will be on display as part of our presentation at SPS 2025 in Nuremberg (Hall 7, Booth 380).
